Kurt Soderling

Kurt Soderling is an award-winning Director and Director of Photography whose career spans more than three decades in film, television, and commercial production. With over 140 feature film and TV credits, his specialty work as an aerial and second-unit cinematographer has shaped iconic projects alongside directors such as James Cameron, Mike Nichols, Robert Zemeckis, Michael Bay, and Jay Roach. He began his feature career on The River Wild and The Birdcage, continuing with landmark productions including TitanicThe Hunger Games, and The Amazing Spider-Man.

Kurt has written, produced, and directed award-winning documentaries including Class of ’83 and Breakout, recognized by the Hollywood Film Festival and Action on Film Festival. His environmental filmmaking collaborations with The Whaleman Foundation produced Deadly Sounds in the Silent World, raising global awareness of ocean conservation and marine life protection. Recent feature projects include Outlaw Posse (2024), The Last Rodeo (2025), and May and the Woodsman (2026).

Kurt and his wife, Melinda, also created MOVE, a commercial dance documentary archive preserving rare footage and interviews with world-renowned dancers and choreographers. The collection is being shared with the Dance Hall of Fame organization to help preserve this invaluable cultural record.
